Black Arrows Coach and GB Para Badminton Player Sharon Jones-Barnes took part in the UK Para Badminton Championships in Sheffield on the 10-12 December 2021.

Sharon took part in all 3 events, singles, doubles, and mixed events, where she was crowned champion in all the events. A tremendous achievement when you consider that she has been unable to compete for almost 2 years due to Covid restrictions and cancellation of Para competitions.

Sharon also played exhibition matches, men’s singles. In a group of 4, she came second in the group under Martin Rooke, GB Paralympic WH2 athlete.

Sharon was extremely proud of her achievements, who through almost 2 years of Covid restrictions managed to continue training with Black Arrows Coach Wayne Bridgeman, remained focus and healthy during this period.

Sharon concludes that her achievements would not have been possible without the tremendous support and encouragement she receives from Black Arrows Badminton Club, and sponsorship received from KARAKAL UK.
