Friday 26th July,  over 300 disabled people, their families and friends from across London joined us at Westway Sports Centre for a day filled with amazing activities. Our Summer Festival aims to inspire disabled people to be active, try new sports, meet friends and discover other opportunities our partners provide.

Participants got to enjoy 22 inclusive sports including Archery, Virtual Reality, Cycling, Wheelchair Rugby, Tennis and more. Our delivery partners, which included Black Arrows Badminton Club, who have supported this event for a number of years showcased just how sport can be adapted for all disabled people.

Not only did our participants enjoy a variety of sports, they got the chance to be creative in our brand new ‘Art Zone’ crafting Community Club Badges! Another of participants commented echoed this: “we really liked the art zone, great idea having it this year”.

A special thanks needs to go to this year’s special guest, Para British Athletics Long Jumper Martina Barber. Martina inspired our participants throughout the day, showing off her very impressive world and European medals before wowing the crowd with her motivational sports journey.

The excitement didn’t end there, we rounded the event off with our Awards Ceremony. The list of awards gets bigger and bigger each year which is all down to the amazing achievements of our Community Club members make throughout the year. Take a look at our photo gallery to see who won what!

A great big well done needs to go to all our staff, coaches, volunteers and delivery partner who made the day possible. We had over 50 volunteers from Pcubed, Hilton and PwC, 60 of our other staff, coaches and volunteers and 17 delivery partners. A big thank you also to Tesco Ladbroke Grove, who kindly provided refreshments for our volunteers, and Irwin Mitchell LLP, who printed our flyers
