Record number of disabled people get active at Summer Festival 2017

21 sports, 5 special guests and 2 performances for 500+ disabled people

Black Arrows were once again involved on the day, with coach Wayne Bridgeman delivering Badminton to over 500 disabled people who came to the Westway Sports & Fitness Centre on Friday 28th July 2017 to take part in our biggest and best #DSCSummerFestival yet! This is our 3rd annual Summer Festival, aimed to bring our Community Club members and others from across London to celebrate getting active!

Show-stopping performances from World Champions ParaCheer & Step Change Studios, which were new additions to the festival this year, took centre stage.

Our special guests Natasha Coates, Blaine Harrision, Susie Rodgers & RBKC Mayor shared their stories, cheered on our members and had a go at the
activities too all whilst Kate Grey took over our Instagram platform.

Kate Grey, DSC Patron & former Paralympic Swimmer said: “The #DSCSummerFestival has just got bigger and better! I feel very proud to support such a successful and impactful event. The vast array of inclusive sports and activities were a great opportunity for people of all abilities.
